Buck’s Men’s Soccer team ended their season with a 5-9-1 record as they traveled and faced teams on our home field.
Key players to acknowledge on the team are: Levi Morris (forward, 9 goals, 2nd team All-USCAA, 1st team All-Conference), Leo Chanez (Defender), Carlos Hernandez (Forward/Defender, 4 goals), Gavin Eckenrode (Defender), Aiden Perry (Midfielder, 4 goals). They all showed extreme eagerness on the field as they supported their team through the season.
The Men’s season did face challenges to overcome, after speaking with Head Coach Justin Burroughs he expressed the availability of players was the main component that caused the team to struggle. Coach Burroughs stated, “We had multiple injuries to starters which was unfortunate, that led to the team being inconsistent how the team overcame it: Other players stepped up and contributed. Some players played out of position as well.” says Burroughs. The flexibility and willingness of other players helped keep the positive coaching and stamina of the season going strong.
Coach Burroughs also spoke on the importance of improvement and what he noticed from a coach’s perspective. “Our understanding of the game and our speed of play. Even with us down players, we still played well and were unfortunate not to win a few close games. We were
unlucky not to get a chance to play one team that would have put us in the conference championship but they could not make the contest.” Working as a team allows for players to learn more about the game and one another, and how to hit the field harder next time.
Lastly, Coach Burroughs was asked to share a memory that was his favorite throughout the entire season. He states, “A few, there was the Virginia overnight trip that was great for morale. Avenging our losses earlier in the season to Williamson and Patrick Henry. Lastly, our men’s and women’s team get together to do community service to feed families and serve hot chocolate, tea, give presents, etc… during the holiday season.” This team created bonds that grow on and off the field.
Good luck to the Bucks County Community College also known as the Centurion Men’s Soccer team season as they take the off season to prepare to return back on the field in the upcoming fall season.
