Eric Mintel spent 32 years making a living being a jazz musician. Now, he is in the pursuit of knowledge of the supernatural, paranormal, and the further unknown.
On Friday, March 8, 2025, from 12-7:00 PM, Bucks County Community College is holding the second annual ParaCon in the Zlock Performing Arts Center at the Newtown Campus, hosted by Eric Mintel and Dominic Satelle, with numerous other fantastic guests, including Dave Schrader, who can be seen on the paranormal T.V. series “The Holzer Files,” and “Ghosts of Devil’s Perch.”
Before hosting ParaCon, Eric Mintel made his living as a jazz musician for 32 years, and was quite successful while doing so.
Along with playing at the famed Kennedy Center in Philadelphia, Mintel and his quartet have performed at the White House for both George Clinton and Barack Obama, as well as the United Nations.
“I have been interested in the paranormal ever since I was a kid. It wasn’t until recently that I had the opportunity to share my interests with others,” said Mintel.
In 2016, the Eric Mintel Show began. The YouTube channel would follow Eric and many other guests into a historically “active” property or establishment around the greater Bucks County Area.
He also sits down with many different people of very different backgrounds and has discussions in a semi-podcast format on his channel.
Mintel does not make “exaggerated T.V. ghost stories,” he stated, but bases his content in reality instead of pushing for entertainment. What you see happen or not happen is what he and his guests saw.
“I don’t only focus on the paranormal aspect of this whole thing. I find the historical portion is the most interesting because that is the stuff that gives a lot of our discoveries a valid reference point.”
“To be honest with you, I’m pretty grateful that we are in a time now where people can be honest with their experiences with the paranormal without being labeled, quite frankly, as crazy,” says Mintel.
He continued, “But don’t get me wrong, I go into all of my investigations on the skeptical side, wanting to be proved wrong. Even though I’m working with the paranormal, at the end of the day, I’m just looking for answers like everyone else.”
“It felt like people around here were screaming for an event like this, but last year completely blew me away. People were dressing up, coming in matching costumes and group costumes. Every vendor and food truck completely sold out last year,” Mintel stated.
Everything will be structured in almost the same way it was last year. However, this year, there will be close to 35 different authors, psychic mediums, and merchandise vendors, along with many food trucks with a variety of great grub.
“I love it, believe in it, and I pour one thousand percent into this event, from the vendors and food trucks, to the staff, and to our amazing guests,” said Mintel. And I am not surprised nor do I doubt that statement.
Eric Mintel was a great interviewee who has a clear passion for not only his careers, but about life. His personality exuded with energy and passion, while also being patient enough to answer any questions, as he enjoys the curiosity of others.
